About NextGen Financial Freedom

NextGen Financial Freedom is dedicated to providing young adults with the education and resources they need to master money management and build a solid foundation for their financial future. Our goal is to empower individuals to achieve their dreams and live a life of financial freedom.

Founder Bio

Brett Killion

Brett has over 20 years experience being an educator and curriculum designer of financial literacy courses at both the high school and college level. Brett gets excited helping the next generation of adults achieve their financial dreams. He has done this in the classroom for several years and now shares his expertise on personal finance through NextGen Financial Freedom.

Brett's current full-time job is at Lakeland University in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin where he serves as an Associate Professor of Accounting and director of Lakeland's accounting program. In 2023, Brett was the winner of Lakeland's annual Underkofler Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award.

Prior to joining Lakeland's faculty in 2011, Brett was a business education instructor at Luxemburg-Casco High School in Northeast Wisconsin where he created the school's first personal finance course in 2006. In 2009, Brett was a winner of Economics Wisconsin's Excellence in Teaching Economics and Financial Literacy Award.
